Emergency Lighting Systems

It is the responsibility of all employers and landlords to ensure that all these systems are suitably maintained and checked to ensure they are safe and compliant. All emergency lighting systems must be installed, tested and inspected in accordance with I.S 3217:2013 Amendment 1.

Periodic Inspections / RCD Testing

A Periodic Inspection is the testing of the electrical installation in a building from the main incoming power to each final circuit that could include lighting, power and machinery. A Periodic Inspection is an inspection of the condition of an existing electrical installation, to identify any faults or defects that may pose a Health and Safety risk.

Thermal Imaging

Infrared electrical inspections on electrical distribution boards can be used to identify areas of excess heat (hotspots) which can be caused by defects in connection and components. Because an excessive increase in temperature is a sign of failure, infrared is the best diagnostic tool available to find areas of concern in the early stages of degeneration. Faults can be corrected before a component fails which will prevent damage to components which may lead to a potential threat to Health & Safety.

PAT Testing Ireland

Portable Appliance Testing, more commonly known as PAT Testing, involves a process of periodically inspecting and testing of electrical equipment or appliances to ensure they are safe for use. To begin with, all appliances will receive a formal visual inspection to ensure both the flexible cable and the appliance are free from wear and tear, damage, signs of burning, plug tops are also opened to ensure correct wiring, correct fuse rating and again free from damage or signs of overheating.
